This Crown Imperial Kitchen Installation Penge Se20 , was our opportunity to work with 2 sisters who live in a converted Victorian Diary. The property gave them a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area coupled with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.
The property was being fully overhauled and our works included the design and installation of a fitted kitchen, fitted bathroom and bespoke cabinetry to concealed a newly fitted boiler and provide additional storage space.
Our kitchen design incorporated a large 900mm wide centre island peninsula which housed; a sink, washing and cooling appliances. A shorter run of units on the back wall were designed to provide space for oven, hob and extraction. In addition to this a free standing centre island unit on castors was designed and installed to give the homeowners additional storage space via large double pan drawer units.
The castors allowed the unit to be positioned anywhere throughout the kitchen as required.
The clients wanted a light, airy feel to the new space and therefore chose Crown Imperial Furore Grey Silk gloss handle less base units coupled with Furore Icy White gloss handle less wall units.
The centre island unit was constructed using Crown Imperial Rialto Oxygen Acrylic high gloss handle less fascias to add a dramatic splash of colour to the overall effect.
Due to the limited first floor access within the building we specified Minerva 25mm thick, acrylic solid surface worktops in Grey Crystal. This option allowed for seamless on-site fabrication together with the installation of stainless steel under mounted box sink with integrated drainer grooves. Once fully installed the clients benefited from a one piece seamless looking worktop, that visitors would question how such a large piece of worktop could have gotten into the property!!
Additional storage space, which is always at a premium with this style of property, was provided with the design and fabrication of bespoke cabinetry to the rear of the peninsula island worktop. This cabinetry was once again fabricated on-site together with a matching floor to ceiling unit to hide the newly fitted wall combination boiler and utility supplies. These cabinets were decorated to blend in with the rest of the internal decorations.
The whole of the kitchen floor area was tiled using Royale Lounge 600mm x 600mm dark grey, high polished porcelain floor tiles. The small wall to the rear of the hob was tiled either side of the hob using White Metro wall tiles with grey grout. A final splash of colour was added by the installation of a coloured toughened glass splash back panel to the rear of the hob.
Under cabinet task lighting was provided using Sensio Alti Prismatic LED under cabinet lights. These coupled with the large window facing into the kitchen fulfilled our clients’ brief of a light and airy space perfectly.
