With this Lee Kitchen Installation project, we were tasked with leading a total overhaul of a small kitchen leading via an archway into a traditional dining room area. Like most modern houses, the dining room space was rarely used, so we suggested moving the kitchen from the current smaller room into the larger dining room space and turning the existing kitchen space into a cosy, snug and informal dining room area.
The project required a large amount of building and cosmetic work before the kitchen installation works could commence. These works involved the supply and repositioning of a new boiler, removing a non-load-bearing kitchen and dining room wall, and re-boarding both ceilings. In addition, additional lighting was created in the form of two banks of twelve and six Aurora LED downlighters into newly boarded ceilings.
The newly fitted boiler was concealed within a bespoke floor-to-ceiling boiler cupboard, leaving enough space for a circular dining room table and chairs for entertaining.
All walls in the existing kitchen space were re-boarded, and both rooms benefitted from a full re-plaster finish. In addition, new skirtings and architraves were fitted to the now large L shape room before the commencement of complete decorating works.
Heating this larger space was taken care of with the installation of two large panelled radiators, and additional heating, if required, was provided via a Myson Hydronic Kickspace heater concealed within the centre island unit area.
The client chose a Crown Furore white high gloss full handle-less kitchen complimented with Samsung Radianz Kulon Ink composite quartz worktops complete with mitred waterfall end detailing to the centre island unit space for a truly luxurious finish. In addition, a seamless finish was created behind the hob area with the installation of a one-piece Optidek gloss white toughened glass splashback panel complete with socket cutouts.
A random plank effect timber vinyl floor was laid using Polyflor Camaro floor tiles. Appliances for this space came from Samsung, using a single pyrolytic oven, compact combination microwave oven, and a full frost free 70/30 split integrated fridge freezer. All are perfectly concealed within the Crown-fitted furniture.
Evening mood lighting was created using Sensio Arcade LED under cabinet lighting coupled with Sensio Specto LED plinth lighting. Lastly, the final touches were added in the form of pendant lighting installation over the centre island space coupled with the must-have sizeable flat-screen TV with fully concealed electrics for entertainment purposes.
The client took great joy in showing off the new space to neighbours and friends, resulting in various additional recommendations for our services, a testament to our quality of work and client-centric approach with all projects.
