This Grove Park Kitchen Installation project allowed us to revisit a job we had completed 18 years ago. The customer had previously had a Crown kitchen fitted by us, complete with Corian worktops.
As we find with most of our past customers who have had a Crown kitchen, the kitchen was still in perfect working order after many years. Still, the client wanted a fresher-looking finish.
This allowed our team to present an option where two-thirds of the existing kitchen was re-doored. In addition, a pre-existing bank of tall storage units was changed to increase refrigeration storage and worktop preparation areas.
The kitchen led into a large extension with full-width Bi-Fold doors. The customer found that the existing panel radiator struggled to give them a warm and cosy environment in such an ample space. To remediate this issue, the current panel radiators were removed. We supplied and fitted two Warm-Up DCMPro separate electrical underfloor heating systems. Both were controlled via a touch screen 3IE digital programmer and thermostat. This provided the customer with total temperature control in the kitchen area and existing extension living space. Once this underfloor heating system had been laid and tested, it was entirely encapsulated in a latex self-levelling screed before being tiled with large format porcelain 1200mm x 600mm polished white and grey marble effect tiles accompanied with matching skirting tile detail. Many thanks to our partners at CG tiling for an excellent finish here.
The customer opted for Crown Midsomer Solid Oak shaker style door sprayed in a pale grey finish. This gave the 1900’s house a more traditional-looking kitchen. Appliances were from Neff and Bosch. This included a pyrolytic single hide and slide oven, a combination compact microwave oven, and a large 80cm induction hob with a matching Bosch full-height separate larder fridge and frost-free freezer, all fully integrated within the Crown kitchen furniture.
The Corian worktops were completely re-polished and re-finished, resulting in a brand new-looking finish after 18 years of hard use. Many thanks to our friends at CNC laminates for a genuinely stunning job.
An additional luxurious touch was added in the form of an installation of Dekton Natura X18 gloss slimline stone cladding between the top of the worktop integrated upstands to the undersides of all wall cupboards. This complemented the previously laid polished white porcelain floor tiles and gave a seamless finish.
Lastly, the customer wanted to create a final wow factor for the evenings. This was achieved by installing concealed Sensio LED Tape lighting hidden behind the traditional top cornice detailing on all wall and tower units. This was coupled with Sensio Specto LED plinth lighting to provide discreet lighting to the stunning new floor.
The overall effect of the above combination has resulted in a stunning finish that will undoubtedly stand the test of time and has already gained many admiring comments from customers, friends and family.
