Another Complete Catford Bathroom Installation – SE6 South East London

Catford Bathroom Design & Installation – SE6

This Catford Bathroom Installation project was somewhat unusual. The client had previously had the bathroom refurbished by another contractor and was still happy with the natural slate finish floor and existing freestanding bath. However, they were looking for a new shower tray and enclosure space, a new back to wall WC toilet concealed within bespoke fitted bathroom furniture and additional storage within a basin unit.

The awkward part of this project came in the form of the client request to remove all existing tiles from the walls and replace them with brand new tiles for a lighter and airy feeling.

We first set about the works by removing the freestanding bath and temporarily relocating it to one of the spare bedrooms. The existing natural slate floor was then covered with a protective covering before all wall tiles were hacked off the walls. The toilet, basin, and existing shower enclosure were removed.

The problematic floor standing bath shower mixer was changed for a concealed wall-mounted option provided by Hudson Reed. This was complemented by installing a new concealed thermostatic Hudson Reed shower valve complete with two outlets, fixed wall arm, drencher head and pencil handset. This was further coupled with an Eastbrook Vantage 900mm x 1000mm offset quad shower enclosure with 10mm frameless toughened glass.

The WC and basin issues were resolved with the installation of a Montrose Indigo 800mm wide 2 drawer wall suspended vanity unit completed with a one-piece ceramic basin top and a Montrose 800mm wide concealed WC unit complete with 2 x 150mm storage units, a perfect space for the bathroom essentials. Both of the Montrose units were specified in a stunning grey anthracite high gloss finish.

The whole bathroom was then fully tiled, nearly 30 metres in total in 300mm x 100mm high gloss white brick shape tiles. The broken joint method of wall tiling was further accentuated with Ardex Cast Iron grey grout. Finally, the customers existing freestanding bath was reinstated to return the wow factor to the bathroom.

The customer was so happy with the overall outcome and quality of finish that we were immediately instructed to carry out a complete refurbishment of their kitchen. Another satisfied customer…..
