Here was our platform to work with our customer who had purchased their house from developers who had installed a wet room system in the first floor bathroom which continually leaked when used. Having a young family they still wished to keep a bath and full sized shower.
To achieve this we removed all flooring, wall tiles and furniture and plaster board from walls and ceiling. Various services had to be re-routed to facilitate the re-positioning of fitments and furniture. All walls in the shower area were covered in a water proof tile backer board prior to tiling works.
The customer was looking for modern fitments but with a slight Victorian twist and so after a great deal of consideration a 200mm x 100mm Johnsons White Matt wall tile was chosen, contrasted with a Victorian style floor.
A small free standing bath was installed for the younger members of the family whilst keeping a large walk-in shower complete with 25mm low profile shower stone resin shower tray for the busy parents.
The shower incorporated one of the latest state of the art digital shower systems enabling the customer to turn the shower on from outside of the showering area, thus avoiding those wet, cold arms in the morning.
The showering area was finished with a Kudos Infinite 10mm toughened glass sliding shower enclosure. A similar look was recreated in the ground and first floor cloakrooms.
